I just finished the jeeps that run with my towed tank destroyers. The TDD are almost finished as well. I'll have them posted in a couple of days.

Two platoons of Soviet SMGs done. I wanted to have the two platoons to have a different look so one platoon has a sandy, dirty look and the other more green, grass & bushes. That way you can tell the difference during the game.
In the next step I glued more sand to one platoon and painted the rocks on the other.
The dirty, sandy platoon I added lichen that my friend Chris gave me a life time supply of. The other platoon lots of grass and bushes.

SMG Basing
I am finally getting around to the Soviet SMG bases. My son has two platoons so I am basing each platoon a little different. One platoon I decided to go with a sandy base.I put on the plaster then sprinkled sand on top. Big mistake. As I am painting the base the sand keeps coming off and into the brush. Miserable!
The other platoon I am basing the same style I have been doing.

TURN 1

USA: USA moved and did nothing except bog 2 of 5 tanks in the forrest. Germany: The Germans Panzers fired on the Shermans in the forrest. They kill one and bail two. German artillery opens up on the 76mm platoon and kill one. |
TURN 2

USA: Tank in the forrest fails it's bog check. USA looses the 76mm platoon. Also 3 squads of infantry. Germany: |
TURN 4
USA
|
Germany
|
USA: Tank in the forrest finally passes it's bog check. It wants to move out of the cursed forrest, but immediately bogs. US looses another tank platoon. The US starts to sweat. Germany: The Germans sides begin to ache from laughter. |
TURN 5
USA
|
Germany
|
USA: US high comand bites the dust. US parchute team flees the feild. It is now in the hands of Major Talon and his infantry. Germany: |
TURN 6
USA
|
Germany
|
USA: Germany: the Germans vertually unopposed make a run for an objective and take control of it. |
TURN 7
USA
|
Germany
|
USA: Germany: The Germans hold possession of the objective and win the game. They do not loose a platoon and thumb their noses at the retreating US teams. |
I must admit I did a poor job of leading my Shermans. I tried to flank around the left side and take out the German artillery but before I could get there I was too chewed up. Getting the other platoon bogged in the forrest sure didn't help my cause. |

Soviet Sniper
Here is my first attempt at basing. Of course I chose something difficult for my first time, a Soviet Sniper. I am pretty happy with the results.

Khaki Done
I finished the khaki stage of the 82nd airborn. I tried a few different colors on the pants. The photo didn't come out so good but I like the green pants.

Sealion battle for Berkshire
A few of us got together at the club for a Sealion battle. But there were five of us and playing 1500 points each it became large and unwieldily. A rogue German team took sides with the US and Soviets. The brown area is marsh and the green is open farmland.
The battle started strong when the US air force took out a german panzer and the Sherman took out a whole german tank platoon.
But slowly ad methodically the Germans turned the tide.
But even with the knocked out Stugs the Germans won the day.
