The Dacians Return

I am back to work on my long forgotten Dacian army. A friend at the hobby shop wanted to play Hail Caesar. It got me motivated to finally finish my painting my Dacian army. This is a warband with Falx.

Snake Rail Fence

I know it has been a longtime since my last post. My hobbyclub is getting to the American War for Independence table by Warlord Games. I am starting to build terrain for that time period and have started with a snake rail fence.


I started with wooden match sticks and cut off the heads.

Then glues them together in the appropriate shape.

Once dry I then stained it. The stain was blotchy where glue was and part of the match sticks didn't take the stain so I touched it up with paint.

And then for the test. The fence held back my Dacians so I would call it a success. 

LARP Chest

I made this chest for my son and I to share at LARP. I made a removable center divider in case we need one big chest. It also doubles as a sitting stool in the tent.

More Wands

Here are the five wands I made for LARPing. I tried to make each one a little different. It was more or less an experiment in fun.

40K costume complete

I can't remember the name of the 40k character but here is the costume completed.

The making of a Wand

I decided to make a wand for LARP use. I started with a tree branch and my trusty knife.

I then whittled it down to the shape and size I wanted.

Then refined it a little then stained the handle part.

I added some string to give it more pizazz.

I was really happy with the end result so I decided to make four more. they will all be different from each other.

40K Foam Chainsword - Finished

I finished spraying and weathering the chainsword. I then added a leather handle wrap and called it done. I'm pretty happy with the final result.
